DO YOU: HOW FASHION IS MEETING YOU MORE THAN HALFWAY
West Coast Inspo From Brazeau Tricot
“Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak”. Rachel Zoe
Any shop owner will tell you, when a line is discovered that makes your pulse race, transports you with thoughts of ethereal comfort and chic transformation of standard closet essentials (those favorite jeans or that natty old blazer), then you've hit on something special. Brazeau Tricot was that sort of discovery for me. Love at first sight.
Importantly, Brazeau Tricot seemed built on the idea of self-expression; a theme we're getting fully behind this fall. Layered lengths and weights (silks, tulle, cashmere) encourage combinations with your more tailored wardrobe standards.
Brazeau Tricot was founded in 2018 by best friends Laurie Brazeau and Andrea Zuckerman, with a commitment to featuring women’s knits, luxurious silks and 100% finest cashmere.
The styles are simultaneously forward-thinking and vintage-inspired. As luxurious to the hand as they are to the eye, each of Brazeau’s pieces are made from the finest yarns and natural fibers, including combed cotton, cashmere blends and washed silk with cotton.
"Quiet Style" is how the Brazeau Tricot team describes their layers of cropped cashmere sweaters, flowing cardigans, silk tunics, dresses and gossamer knit t-shirts. Each of their pieces are easy to wear, fun, flirty and anything but basic.
FASHION IS THE ULTIMATE FORM OF SELF EXPRESSION
BY ELISSA PROLA
Clothes have a functional role, yes, but they represent so much more. Like the words we choose to speak, the clothes we put on affect us. And, whether we realize it or not, they are a form of self expression to the world.
Realizing a Pretty Outfit is More than Just Pretty
I was five years old when I first discovered how clothes could alter the way I felt. My cousin, Liz, was visiting for the summer, and we decided to have an adventure playing seamstress. After giggling our way through cutting and sewing all night, our teal taffeta had finally become an outfit.
It may have been just a few squares strung together, but I felt fabulous. In that ensemble, there was nothing I couldn’t tackle. And it’s no different for me — or for any of us — as adults today.
It’s why most of us have a power outfit. You know what I’m talking about, those lovely heels or that dreamy dress that makes us feel like we can conquer the world. Read more....
